Description

Generation-defining sporting icon Michael Jordan has placed his signature along the outside webbing of this Wilson MJ-45B professional model baseball glove. In a move that sent shockwaves through the basketball community and made headlines throughout the world, Michael Jordan retired from basketball on Oct. 6, 1993 in order to play Minor League baseball for the Birmingham Barons, the Chicago White Sox AA affiliate. During his 127-game tenure in the Southern League, Jordan hit .202 and collected a very respectable 30 stolen bases. In anticipation of possibly being called up to the Majors as a replacement player due to the ongoing MLB strike, Jordan returned to the Bulls on Mar. 19, 1995; just ten days later, he scored 55 points against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, displaying that even an 18-month absence from professional basketball was no match for his otherworldly talent. This baseball glove stands as an alluring tribute to his brief but memorable baseball career. The limited-edition piece is hand serial-numbered "42/45" and comes with a COA from UDA (BAH88655). The glove is black and features Jordan's name stitched into the thumb segment in white. Part of the popular A2000 Wilson glove line, this autographed version rarely reaches the open market and features the model number "MJ-45B." The item displays a highly favorable manner of appearance and is accompanied with the original UDA box. Welcome to Showpieces Sports. We offer the finest in Sports Memorabilia and autographs.
